15 Vegan-Friendly Restaurants to Visit in Philly

Whether you live in Philadelphia or are planning a trip there in the future, you’re in luck! There are so many veg-friendly restaurants in the area. So, whatever may bring you to Pennsylvania’s largest city, be sure to check out some of these plant-based restaurants!

1. Blackbird Pizzeria

Blackbird Pizzeria is one of Philadelphia’s most popular plant-based eateries with so many great options on the menu. Choose from delicious pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, vegan wings, and more! When in Philly, try the Seitan Cheesesteak, which is rosemary and garlic seared seitan, grilled diced onions, vegan whiz, served on a Lost Bread Co. baguette. If you are in the mood for pizza, try the Haymaker, which is made up of seitan sausage, red onions, garlic butter, tomato sauce, violife mozzarella, and fresh oregano. If you can’t make it to Blackbird, try out this recipe for Jackfruit Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich.

2. HipCityVeg

The Vegan Version/HipCityVeg

Another must is HipCityVeg, which is a 100 percent vegan restaurant, serving up a large variety of options. The menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, Chik’n, salads, breakfast, dessert, and more! Try the Curry Tofu Wrap, which is curried organic and local tofu, sprouts, spinach, tomato, cilantro-white bean purée, and cucumber raita. For dessert, try one of their milkshakes, that come in vanilla, chocolate, and orangesicle. You could always try making this Nearly Raw Chocolate Milkshake.

3. Linda’s Vegetarian Village

Linda’s Vegetarian Village is serving up delicious vegan fare like smoothies, sandwiches, hoagies, salads, and more. The menu has raw options, too, like Raw Kale Salad, Carob Balls, Stir Fry, and Cous-cous. You could also order a fresh juice or smoothie if you are looking for something refreshing to sip on. If you want, you could always try making these Raw Truffles with Chia, Carob and Coconut.

4. All The Way Live

When in Philadelphia, head over to All The Way Live for some delicious, plant-based cuisine. The menu consists of items like Avocado Spinach Salad, Chickpea Burger, Squash Soup, BBQ Mushrooms, Marinated Cabbage, and so much more. If you can’t make it to this lovely restaurant, try out this recipe for Curried Chickpea Burger.

5. Bar Bombon

You could also try Bar Bombon, which is serving up vegan brunch, lunch, and dinner in Philadelphia. Try the Breakfast Mexican Flatbread, Coconut Stuffed French Toast, and Sticky Apple French Toast, which are among a variety of different options on the menu. For lunch or dinner, try ordering the Sweet Corn, Spanish Meatballs, Nachos, or the Buffalo Cauliflower Taco. You could always try making these Roasted Buffalo Cauliflower Bites.

You could also try ordering one of their Tehina Shakes, which come in flavors like Turkish Coffee, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Banana. 7. New Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant

New Harmony Vegetarian Restaurant is serving up some of the best plant-based Chinese fare in Philly! The menu has an abundance of vegan meats, like shrimp, beef, chicken, fish, pork, ham, and more. If you love seafood, try ordering the Sweet and Sour Fish, or the Kung Po Shrimp. If you can’t make it to New Harmony, try out this recipe for Chinese Eggplant with Garlic Sauce.

8. Charlie Was A Sinner

If you’re looking for a hip vegan hangout, try visiting Charlie was a Sinner, a plant-based bar and cafe! Try the Silken Tofu and Mushroom Ramen, which is made with glass noodles, shiitake, enoki, and baby bok choy. If you are looking for something on the smaller side, order the Avocado Toast, which has avocado, habanero mayo, cherry belle radish, and red onion on a warm piece of toast. The menu has many other options to chose from. You could always try making this Savory Mushroom Avocado Toast if you can’t make it to Philadelphia.

9. Vedge

Vedge is a vegetarian restaurant serving up all kinds of delightful vegan dishes. The Charred Brussel Sprouts with a kimchee glaze and pickled mushrooms, and the Cauliflower “Tagine” with farro, green olive, and preserved lemon, are just two of the many options offered on the menu. If you can’t make it to Vedge, you could always try making these Crispy Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts.

10. Vegan Tree

I see Govind\'s Vegetarian restaurant did not make your list, located at 1408 South Street corner of Broad and South.
