There is something pretty magical about the beginning of a new year. People make resolutions and set goals for what they hope to achieve in the 12 months to come. As Green Monsters, our minds are undoubtedly occupied on how we are going to make a difference for animals and the environment in the upcoming year. But before we dive into what’s next, it’s always important to take a step back and reflect on the events of the past year.

After all, 2015 has been a pretty amazing year – but it wasn’t without its trials and struggles. As animal lovers, we were faced with a number of horrific stories related to the treatment of animals. From the death of Cecil the lion to the countless exposés that showed us what life is really like for farm animals, you probably felt a twinge of sadness or frustration. But amidst all the negative headlines, there were also countless positive ones highlighting the amazing lengths people went to to rescue animals. We were endlessly inspired by the kind actions of these people and strived to turn that inspiration into action in our own lives.

So before kicking off the new year, we’d like to reflect on some of the most extraordinary animal rescues of 2015. Thanks to all these fantastic people and organizations, the world is just that much more of a better place for animals – here’s to 2016 and the many more wonderful stories to come!

When I look at another animal, I see a life. That could be me in there, looking out from those sad, helpless eyes. This is how we all should think - the world would be a better place. We are all equal. Thank you to anyone who helps another animal in distress. You are all heroes. xxx
