In the U.S., most people recoil at the thought of eating dog, however in certain parts of Asia, this practice is considered normal.
Similar to the way we raise chickens, pigs, and cows, dogs raised for their meat are kept in horrific conditions. Most farms stack hundreds of dogs on top of one another in small cages. These animals are deprived of everything from basic care to clean food and water. In some facilities, the dogs are even forced to watch their companions get slaughtered in front of them.
Thankfully, there are many organizations dedicated to ending this cruel trade. In this video, we see a series of rescues carried out by Humane Society International. This incredible organization works to shut down meat farms and encourages farmers to take up crop cultivation instead.
Attitudes toward eating dog meat are changing across Asia, and hopefully with the help of these brave rescuers, this will soon be a thing of the past!
Thank you Humane Society for rescuing these dogs. This article is about the dogs not other animals. Perhaps when an article is displayed about rescuing cows people will complain it is not about dogs. Just appreciate it for what it is at this present moment and move on.

What matters here is the mind set. You simple cannot look at one as a pet and another as food. It is all the same. They are sentient beings…..cat, dog, pig, cow…..come on. You know it, but you also know if you admit it then you are held accountable & if you don’t make the change, then you have to live with it. So we continue to stick our heads in the sand and call one ‘pet’ and one ‘dinner’. This IS the issue. It’s not about one life – it’s about all of their lives.
