Easter is a holiday with profound religious meaning for many people across the globe and a time for friends and family to gather and celebrate. While there are many people who choose to observe the day without the more traditional meanings associated as well, its observation is largely the same. Good food, good friends and counting your blessings (however you choose to do that.)
For plant-based peeps, celebrating Easter means sometimes avoiding foods commonly associated with it (like, for instance, Peeps.) With meat-centric main courses, dairy-laden sides, eggy accouterments and animal by-product heavy candies, this day can be a bit of a mine field if you choose to avoid those things in your day to day diet.
There’s no reason that you can’t throw a lovely and lavish Easter brunch, lunch or dinner as long as you have some amazing recipes, though! Guests of all dietary backgrounds will be more than impressed and you get the satisfaction of knowing that your participation in the festivities can include indulging in amazing and cruelty-free fare. We think the Easter bunny would be down with that plan!
