Weekly Spotlight: Using Mushrooms in Entrees, Sides, and Sandwiches!

Garlic Butter Mushroom Scallops

With the upcoming holidays, you might still be wondering what to serve as your main entree. You may not realize it, but mushrooms make an amazing entree to serve during the holidays. There are a variety of mushrooms to choose from, from trumpet mushrooms to baby bellas to portobellos, which means there are a variety of recipes you can create with mushrooms. If you didn’t want to do an entire entree, you could even have an appetizer of mushroom soup or serve crackers with this mushroom pate!

Plus, because mushrooms take on lots of flavors and hold a bit of water, once they’re cooked down, they take on flavors well and can create a wonderfully meaty entree.

If you’re looking for how to use mushrooms in side dishes, we’ve got you covered. From amazing stuffings to garlic mushrooms, these side dishes will do wonderfully on your holiday dinner table. And, if you’ve got a few extra mushrooms on hand from these recipes, you can even make a few sandwiches that feature mushrooms. Think savory, delicious, burgers and pita pockets!
