More and more people are waking up to the impact that their daily habits are having on the planet. Many have chosen to take on a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle by taking public transportation to work instead of driving, other are installing low-flow shower heads and rain barrels to reduce their water footprints. There are incredibly simple ways that we can all do our part to reduce our personal footprint on the planet, but one astoundingly powerful step we can all take is one that most people overlook: our diet.
That’s right. As we’ve said before and are sure to say countless times again, the fight against climate change starts on your plate. Who knew that helping to solve one of the world’s largest challenges could be so delicious, huh? The fact is, the global diet trends are showing a shift towards a more meat-centric diet, which is proving to be wildly detrimental to our planet. The expansion of grazing livestock coupled with the increase in the amount of land needed to grow food for livestock is driving deforestation and habitat degradation across the planet. And sadly, this isn’t the only cause of environmental destruction linked to our industrialized food system.
If you’re serious about climate change, maybe you should consider taking a look at how the foods you eat impact the planet as well! To help you along the way, check out these top 10 environmental offenders you should avoid:

Hey! The soybeans and corn people eat are not the ones damaging the planet, it´s the corn and soybeans used as animal food that are! If we planted them only for human food they probably would be in the list together with peanuts, lentils, rice and wheat.
