We admit that when we go out to brunch, we are on the hunt for some good, old-fashioned, sweet and decadent comfort food. As much as we love preparing our own delicious feasts at home, sometimes it’s nice to go out and treat ourselves to a classic brunch dish.
One of the most beloved brunch pairings in the world is chicken and waffles. If you’re someone who is trying to eat a more plant-based diet, you probably thought the days of digging into a crispy, warm protein on top of a fluffy stack of waffles was over … but luckily it’s 2017 and there are actually plenty of plant-based chicken and waffle dishes being served in restaurants!
Below, we’ve rounded up several restaurants in the United States that actually serve plant-based “chicken” and waffles. Say hello to your new favorite Southern comfort breakfast, vegan style.
