Paul McCartney has released a new music video for Animal rights. Released at the end of October, his new video is a partnership with PETA to end animal testing.
The former Beatle is a longtime advocate for animal rights. McCartney collaborates with PETA on multiple initiatives, he is also a vegetarian and animal activist. In the video, McCartney uses the song “Looking for Changes,” in the animated video about ending animal testing. “I’m looking for changes that will continue the momentum of getting animals out of laboratories. Experiments on animals are unethical — they’re a colossal failure and a waste of time and money. We can and must do better,” McCartney said.
Animal testing is harmful to animals and unnecessary. The majority of animal testing is used in medicine and for other human products and treatments. According to PETA, the National Institutes of Health wastes $12 billion annually on animal testing that leads nowhere, these experiments on animals actually fail 90% of the time! Research used on animals rarely correlates when it is then tested on humans, making it a waste of money and unnecessary. Monkeys, mice, rats and dogs are all used in animal experiments around the nation.
In addition to speaking out against animal testing, McCartney is also an outspoken vegetarian. In an interview with PETA, he praised a vegetarian diet for its benefit to animals and the environment. His daughter, Stella McCartney, is also a vocal Animal rights activist. The fashion designer recently released a collection featuring new vegan fur technology.
Numerous companies are standing up against animal testing and recently the USDA made a decision to eliminate some mammalian testing by 2025 but there’s more to be done and it’s time countries ban animal experimentation all together as it’s hurts humans as well,
