Country music star Miranda Lambert finds immense fulfillment in stepping away from the limelight to dedicate herself to a cause close to her heart – rescuing animals. At a recent charity event in Nashville, Lambert highlighted the joy she derives from co-founding the MuttNation Foundation with her mother, Beverly June Lambert.
“It’s cool to be able to share passion with your mom, and she’s been my biggest fan and biggest supporter,” Lambert shared, emphasizing how their shared mission transcends the glamour of her celebrity status. Since its creation in 2009, MuttNation has raised over $9 million to Support animal welfare efforts, including promoting pet adoption, spaying and neutering, and public education about these vital initiatives.
The foundation has recently expanded its efforts to rescue at-risk horses through the launch of the Idyllwind Grant, named after Lambert’s first horse. Lucky Break Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to saving equines, was the first recipient of the grant. Reflecting on the challenges of horse rescue, Lambert noted, “These are huge animals who have been through so much trauma… it takes so much patience on either side, and so much trust on either side.”
For Lambert, animal rescue is more than a charitable pursuit — it’s a labor of love.
