Gathered Foods, the makers of plant-based seafood creator Good Catch, is launching plant-based salmon burgers, the first US-made product of its kind.
With 30% of seafood lovers purchasing salmon monthly, Gathered Foods decided that a plant-based alternative was much needed. Thus, it created an alternative for the most widely consumed fish in the US.
The plant-based salmon burgers have a whopping 16 grams of protein per serving. According to the company, they have the same delicate texture and rich flavor that consumers expect from real salmon burgers.
Chad Sarno, Co-Founder & Chief Culinary Officer at Gathered Foods, makers of Good Catch, said “Culinary innovation is at the forefront of everything we create at Good Catch, and this new salmon will be an absolute game-changer in the market that boasts incredible flavor and texture. We are excited to see consumer response to our Plant-Based Salmon Burgers, which provides a convenient meal solution without the harm.”
Good Catch will try to get these burgers distributed to as many retailers as possible, as it is still working on making its mark in the plant-based seafood aisle.
Christine Mei, CEO of Gathered Foods, said, “With the launch of our Plant-Based Salmon Burgers, we are thrilled to add a delicious new seafood category to our growing product lineup of plant-based offerings. Through our distribution partnership with UNFI and availability of this product directly on our eCommerce website, we have the opportunity to reach a wider net of consumers and brand fans through the introduction of this new, delicious product offering.”
