This week, we feature Holly Bertone (CNHP, PMP) for simple sweets and treats while exploring a healthy lifestyle!  She is an author, blogger, and healthy living advocate. She is the President and CEO of Pink Fortitude, LLC. Holly is a breast cancer and Hashimoto’s survivor and turned these two significant health challenges into an enterprise of healthy living. She inspires others with her quick wit and brutal honesty. In her free time, she loves to garden, and hit flea markets and yard sales.

We went through the Food Monster App and showcased Holly’s best recipes! Check them out!

1. Dharmarita: Healthy Strawberry Mocktail
Vegan Dharmarita: Healthy Strawberry Mocktail

This festive Dharmarita Cocktail is perfect for Cinco de Mayo or any summer soiree. For those of us who can’t or won’t drink for whatever reason, it’s a great idea to have some mocktails on hand.

2. Mint Chocolate Truffles
Vegan Mint Chocolate Truffles

Chocolate truffles. They melt in your mouth. Mint Chocolate Truffles add a layer of extra yum. But what about those who are dairy-free or vegan? Trust me when I tell you… these vegan truffles will rival those with cream. They will leave you wanting more. And they fit in with your nutrition protocol.

3. Easy Sour Cream
Vegan Easy Sour Cream

Sour cream is one of those foods that makes a recipe go from delicious to perfection. But what if you are dairy free? This Easy Sour Cream fills the void. It’s creamy and tart and just as good as the traditional version.

4. Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cookies
Vegan Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cookies

The warmth of a cup of hot chocolate. The zing of a little peppermint. All in a cookie. This Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cookie puts it together with all of the flavor, but none of the sugar crash. Eat it. Dunk it. Take it to a cookie exchange. Leave it out for Santa. Just don’t call it ordinary.

5. Baked Mozzarella Sticks
Vegan Baked Mozzarella Sticks

The breading, the fried cheese… does it get any better? These Baked Mozzarella Sticks are pretty darn close to the real thing and takes the edge off during those moments of comfort food cravings. Try them for yourself!

6. Cinnamon Turmeric Sweet Potatoes
Vegan Cinnamon Turmeric Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes can be dressed up with all sorts of delicious things from tangy cranberry sauce to fluffy marshmallows. This recipe for Cinnamon Turmeric Sweet Potatoes, however, lets the natural flavor of sweet potato shine, elevating it with just a few select seasonings like cinnamon, turmeric, thyme, salt, and pepper. Just a quick toss, some time in the oven, and voila! A delectable side dish you will use time and time again.

7. Copycat Tagalongs
Vegan Copycat Tagalongs

Tagalongs are one of the most popular Girl Scout cookies — it’s tough to say “no” to the combination of peanut butter and cookies covered in smooth chocolate. In this recipe, sweetened sunflower seed butter is dolloped atop a grain-free vegan cookie ( so those with peanut allergies can indulge), then covered with a decadent raw chocolate coating. They’re so simple to make and even easier to eat!

8. S’mores Ice Cream Cake
Vegan S’mores Ice Cream Cake

There are few things in life that are better than taking the first bite of a perfectly made s’more – the crunch of the graham cracker, the burnt caramel from the marshmallow, and the rich, melty chocolate. But what if you could have all of that, plus ice cream? This Smores Ice Cream Cake has all of the flavors and textures a perfect s’more does but with the added bonus of being a cool and creamy treat. It’s the ultimate summer dessert.

9. Crème de Menthe Brownies
Vegan Crème de Menthe Brownies

These Crème de Menthe Brownies are a labor of love but if you have the time, they are well worth it. You have a chocolate brownie base with a creamy layer of mine that is topped off with homemade chocolate. Needless to say, this decadent treat is delicious.

10.  Toasted Bread and Apple Stuffing
Vegan Toasted Bread and Apple Stuffing

Fluffy cubes of garlicky bread, savory onions, crunchy pieces of fresh celery, and fresh juicy apple … this Toasted Bread and Apple Stuffing is going to become your favorite holiday dish! The ingredients in this stuffing complement each other wonderfully and really come together once drizzled with apple cider vinegar, dunked in vegetable broth, and sprinkled with herbs. Enjoy!
