Prices move a lot: bundle deals pairing a station with a panel regularly beat buying the two separately.
Keep it charged between 20% and 80% for storage rather than sitting at full, and cycle it every few months rather than leaving it in a cupboard for two years. LFP is forgiving, but no battery likes being stored full and untouched. Most of these have app control that will tell you the state of charge without unpacking it.
And use it beyond emergencies, because a battery that only comes out during storms is mostly embodied carbon sitting in a garage. Run it for camping, outdoor work, market stalls, or as a UPS for a home office, and the footprint gets amortised across hundreds of uses rather than three.
