Hemp seeds are the seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. You can find hemp seeds in supermarkets and health food stores often packaged as hemp hearts. These are what you are looking for. Hemp seeds are incredibly nutritious and are fairly sizable, making them tasty, nutty additions to many meals.

Hemp seeds are about 30% fat and contain 2 essential fatty acids—omega 6 and omega 3. They contain a very good quality protein with 2-3 tablespoons of hemp seeds containing 11g of protein. They are also a complete protein source meaning that they contain all of the essential amino acids.

Take a look at these OGP recipes that will inspire you to introduce, or add more, hemp seeds into your diet. There are so many more creative ideas than just tossing them into your salad.
