The swift parrot is one of the most stunning birds on Earth, wrapped in vivid green feathers with a burst of red and yellow near its beak. Fewer than 750 remain alive today. Scientists recently detected swift parrots nesting in a Tasmanian forest and submitted evidence urging protection of that area. Before any safeguards were put in place, the forest was allegedly logged entirely, nests and all. You can fight back by signing the petition at Sign the petition now and demanding real accountability from the Albanese Government.
Both Sustainable Timber Tasmania and the Tasmanian government allegedly brushed off responsibility with hollow statements about environmental planning. The federal government must take over forestry oversight and ensure no approved logging ever again threatens a species this close to extinction. Every swift parrot lost is irreplaceable. Add your name at Sign the petition now and stand up for this irreplaceable species before it disappears forever.
