In Wisconsin, a man allegedly kept 17 cats, then left them behind when he moved out in June 2025. He reportedly commuted back for food and water for months, but investigators say he stopped entirely by the end of November 2025. When authorities arrived, 16 cats were dead and the remaining cat was missing. Bowls were empty, and the home was reportedly covered in feces, suggesting the cats likely died from dehydration.
The man claimed an ankle injury stopped him from returning, and he said he asked someone else to help, but investigators say there is no evidence of that. He has been arrested and charged with 48 counts of animal abuse. That is serious, but animals need prevention too.
