The Bond follows fascinating animal lovers from all around the world and their deep bonds with all different types of creatures. These unique bonds can change the lives of both nonhuman animals and humans.
Episode 1 follows Rae Harvey, who formed an incredible bond with Kanku while volunteering at a kangaroo sanctuary in Australia. Episode 2 observes Jay Sargent, who befriends a bottlenose dolphin named Jojo. Episode 3 follows Cate and Chad Battles, who live in an Airstream with their goat, Frankie. Episode 4 takes place in South Africa at a sanctuary where Desmond and Elizke Gouws get cheetahs ready to return to the wild.
“The Bond reminds us that beauty, connection and hope can be born out of the most adverse and challenging circumstance in our world. As animal lovers, we are thrilled to partner with Glen Zipper and Discovery to capture these incredible stories,” said Susan Downey.
The Bond celebrates these special relationships and bonds and shows how animals can rescue humans just as much as humans can rescue animals.
Along with the Team Downey, the series is also executive produced by Emily Barclay Ford, Glen Zipper (creator of “Dogs” on Netflix), and Sean Stuart. The series is directed by Don Argott and Sheena Joyce.
The four-part series is available now on Discovery+.
