A devastating loss for wildlife unfolded in Wales when Hafren Dyfrdwy allegedly drained a reservoir during peak toad breeding season, wiping out over 1,000 common toads. Volunteers had just guided 1,500 toads safely across roads to reach this site. Weeks later, the water was gone before the animals could leave. You can demand accountability by signing the petition here. Common toad populations have already dropped by more than 40%, making this destruction even more alarming.
The damage extends beyond toads. Birds, newts, frogs, and insects all depended on this reservoir as a vital habitat. Waiting just a few more weeks would have saved countless lives. Hafren Dyfrdwy must restore the habitat and commit to protecting wildlife going forward. Join thousands of supporters calling for change at sign the petition now!
