Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is hiring vegan Meera Vadher as his head of environmental policy to improve his green credentials, according to the Guardian.

Vadher is expected to start working sometime next year. She first entered politics in 2011 as a parliamentary assistant. She has worked for a mayor and was later given a job at the Department for Health and Social Care working on the NHS’s Covid test-and-trace system.
After that, she worked for the Department for Transport’s green schemes and was even a part of the UK’s COP26 delegation. She went on to become a management consultant for Flint Global, where she advises clients on government policy on green transportation.
Environmentalists hope that Sunak’s choice will help him meet environmental goals over the following years. With the latest IPCC report that says it’s ‘now or never‘ to take action against climate change, we need to act fast!
