When it comes to the climate crisis and the future of our planet, it can be easy to feel like the odds are stacked against us. But scattered across industries and continents, a new generation of companies is proving that profit and purpose can absolutely coexist. According to TIME, these ten businesses are among the most influential sustainability leaders of 2026, and their work offers genuine reasons for hope.

Montreal-based GHGSat operates 15 satellites that can pinpoint methane leaks at industrial facilities down to a specific pipe or loading dock, giving operators the precision they need to act fast. Meanwhile, corporate sustainability software firm Watershed filled a critical gap when federal emissions data became unavailable, launching a free platform called Cornerstone in partnership with Stanford University so companies could keep measuring and reporting their climate impact.

On the consumer side, Blueland has built a thriving eco-friendly cleaning brand by eliminating single-use plastic entirely, favoring refillable containers and compostable packaging instead. Since 2019, the company has prevented over one billion plastic bottles from reaching landfills and oceans, and grew revenue by 80 percent in 2025 alone. Nuton, a subsidiary of mining giant Rio Tinto, is transforming copper production by using microorganisms to extract up to 85 percent of copper from ore while using 80 percent less water than conventional methods.

Dairy giant Danone, now the world’s largest B Corporation, has nearly met its goal of reducing methane emissions 30 percent by 2030, partly by equipping thousands of small farmers with biodigesters that convert livestock waste into renewable energy. Meanwhile, PADI, the world’s largest scuba diving organization, is turning its global network of divers into ocean conservationists, collecting data that has shaped real plastic policies and removed millions of debris pieces from marine environments.

Water technology company Xylem has saved billions of cubic meters of water through leak detection and reuse systems, and Veolia is eliminating toxic PFAS chemicals from drinking water at an industrial scale. Overstory uses satellite imagery and AI to help utilities prevent wildfires before they start. And textile startup Circ is tackling fashion’s recycling problem by separating polyester and cotton blends so both materials can be reused at scale. Together, these innovators remind us that a better world is already being built.
