Hyper-Realistic A.I.-Generated Images of old livestock

Have you ever seen an old cow, pig, or chicken? Most people haven’t because animals in our current food system live only a fraction of their natural lives. NotCo, a global food tech company with a mission to create a more sustainable world by removing animals from the food equation, is now using artificial intelligence (A.I.) to educate people on the disparity between animals’ lifespans in nature versus the food industry.

In an eye-opening campaign running through the end of Earth Month, NotCo shares hyper-realistic A.I.-generated images of old farm animals on social media, billboards, and print ads in select cities across the U.S., as well as in other countries where the company operates. These images reveal that cows can live up to 49 years, pigs up to 23 years, and chickens up to 13 years in nature. However, in the food system, their lives are often cut drastically short.

NotCo is renowned for its patented A.I. technology, Giuseppe, which analyzes the molecular structure of animal-derived food to replicate its flavor, texture, functionality, and smell using only plant-based ingredients. The resulting plant-based foods have a significantly smaller environmental impact. For example, NotChicken™ uses 86 percent less water and generates 73 percent less CO2 than traditional chicken production.

Fernando Machado, Global CMO for NotCo, explains that the company turned to A.I. once again to envision what a better future for animals might look like. He hopes the campaign will spark a larger conversation about how we can all contribute to a better future for ourselves, the planet, and animals.

Animal farming, the basis for global food production, occupies one-third of the Earth’s surface and emits more CO2 than all of the world’s transportation combined. NotCo’s innovative use of A.I. to create sustainable food alternatives is transforming the industry. NotCo products, including NotMilk™, NotBurger™, and NotChicken™, are available in over 10,000 stores in the U.S. and in partnerships with major brands like Burger King, Shake Shack, Starbucks, and Dunkin Donuts.

Recently, NotCo became a Certified B Corporation, a global movement of companies committed to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The certification applies to all its products across the U.S. and other countries, including Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Paraguay.

In conclusion, this thought-provoking campaign invites us to imagine a world where livestock lives to its full life expectancy. Let’s all do our part to create a sustainable future by choosing plant-based alternatives and supporting companies like NotCo that prioritize environmental and social responsibility.
