June is International Pride Month and a perfect opportunity to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Parades, picnics, parties, concerts, and more are going on all over the world.
Taking inspiration from the famous and iconic LGBTQ+ flag makes for some fun decorations and crafts with its beautiful rainbow colors.
Fly these colors with pride as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or as an ally and friend with one or all of these simple craft projects.

This is a great idea if you have a bunch of craft beads at home. Sort the beads out into rainbow colors and thread them onto a piece of natural twine or string.
If you don’t have rainbow colors, only wooden beads, you can color them in with marker pens.
You can add a heart bead to the end to emphasize the love. Use the grand to string along a mantle, or around your neck or wrists.

Invite one and all into your home with this fun and colorful doormat. If you have an old tired doormat that needs some sprucing up, take this opportunity and some leftover acrylic paint to create a rainbow for your home.
Leave it as a simple rainbow or stencil the word ‘Welcome’, or anything you wish, in bold black lettering. Leave it to dry before wiping your feet on it!

This is another great craft if you have a big bag full of unused yarn. If you don’t, see if any friends or neighbors have one that they’d be happy to get rid of.
Tassle pompoms are probably the easiest and quickest way to make a pompom. All you need to do is make a bunch of them in the different rainbow colors and string them together into a garland.
Remember making round pompoms as a kid? You just need some yarn, two cardboard discs, and a pair of scissors. Make a bunch and thread them together into a cool rainbow garland.

With just a stick, some ribbon, and a safety pin, you can make a gymnastic-style rainbow ribbon wand for swirling in celebration
Alternatively, these ribbon wands are tons of fun to play with at home or to take to a parade or festival. All you need is a ring to attach the ribbon to and some lengths of ribbon in rainbow colors.
Again, this is a great option for using up old craft supplies or recycled gift wrap ribbons.

Get your old button box out and start sorting them into rainbow colors. Thread the buttons in a rainbow sequence onto a string and tie them to a hoop or stick. You can even use the lid of a jar or container to attach the strings.
Add some bells or other charms for fun and flair.

This is the ultimate ‘reuse’ craft. You just need to have access to a big box of Lego or other building blocks. Raid your kid’s box of blocks and even get them involved in making these fun rainbow decorations.
Keep them up all year, or break them down after Pride month so that they can become a whole bunch of other creations.

Make a bunch of these macrame bracelets for you and your friends to wear this Pride month and all year round. All you need is some embroidery thread in rainbow colors.
If you make one of these bracelets extra long, you can use them for all kinds of other decorations such as garlands and streamers.

Here is another fun project that you can get the kids involved with. Grab some craft paper that represents all the colors of the rainbow, some glue and a branch or rod to hang the paper chains from.
You can make the wall hanging as large or small as you like. It would even be something that you display outside if the weather is fine!
