TikToker Creates Shelter For Stray Dog and Helps Him Find Forever Home [Video]

When @samjaquillard kept noticing a dog on her blink camera, she quickly realized that this dog had been living alone on the streets in 30-degree weather for weeks.

She tried to call the dog, but the pup always ran away, so she decided to make a little shelter and leave out food and water so he had a warm shelter to stay in. Then one day, she looked out of her window, and there he was, sitting in the shelter!

“You can tell he was exhausted so I started to slowly approach him, hoping he wouldn’t run away again,” Sam wrote in her TikTok post.

Then one day, she was out sitting by the shelter and the pup came out to say hello.

“The blankets smell like you so he knew you were the one that set the shelter up,” one user commented.

The sweet pup quickly warmed up to his rescuer and she was able to get him off the streets and now the pup is in a shelter waiting to find his forever home!

According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice an animal on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
