If you don’t live in New York City or you prefer to try your hand at making your own veggie burgers, we’ve got you covered. There are so many unique ways to prepare vegan burgers right in your own kitchen. We’ll even throw in some recipes for plant-based hot dogs, fries, and milkshakes from the Food Monster App!
A good veggie burger is only as good as its ingredients. Black bean burgers would be terribly bland if you just smashed up some beans and made it into a patty. The varieties of flavors you can add are endless. These Black Bean Burgers With Cilantro Lime Sauce by Dora Daily make a spicier burger due to the onion, bell pepper, and a good amount of seasoning. The super simple cilantro lime sauce is a great topper for a spicy burger. It is cool and tangy.
Using mushrooms gives these Hefty, Hearty Mushroom Burgers by Shannon Leparski a meaty-like texture and taste. They hold together really well, with minimal cracking, but always handle them carefully because they are veggie burgers after all! It’s best to chop up all the veggies the same size, preferably really small.
These Quinoa and White Bean Burger by Julie West are loaded with protein and fiber as well as other beneficial nutrients, and they are very filling. The patties hold up great without falling apart, and they are not dry at all or mushy. The texture, taste, and visual appeal all hit the mark. Once layered with all the extra goodies, this burger was divine!
When it comes to recreating your favorite childhood meals, it’s all about the seasoning and these Carrot Hot Dogs by Casey Muir Taylor got it right. They’re made by boiling carrots until soft and then marinating them in a savory sauce. After that, you just fry them to make them a little crispy and you have yourself a whole foods-based and budget-friendly meal.
These Coconut Milkshakes and Cookies by Kelly Farrier are a fun and indulgent treat that also nourish your body with healthy and wholesome ingredients, like oats, coconut, and nuts. The milkshakes are a more natural alternative to the sugary, artificially colored and flavored milkshakes, made with only chilled coconut milk, liquid sweetener, and leftover cookie filling to pair perfectly with each cookie.
