Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman spoke to Women’s Health about her plant-based diet. While the athlete has finished her Olympic career, she still continues a plant-based diet.
Raisman owns 85 different flowers, vegetables and succulents. Being close to plants has helped her with her food choices. “It’s been really calming for me. It brings me a lot of happiness and allows me to practice gratitude for where my food is coming from,” she told the outlet. She says of her eating habits, “I always eat for a purpose and I’m always thinking in terms of what’s going to keep me energized.”
For breakfast, Raisman eats celery juice, coffee with soy milk, a bagel with nuts or cauliflower rice, and avocado.

For dinner, she opts for plant-focused meals, “My plate is usually heavily veggies.” She also looks for plant-based meats, “I cooked with tempeh the other night and it was actually pretty good.”
And for dessert? “I love frozen bananas with dairy-free chocolate chips and a little soy milk to make it creamy,” says Raisman.
