Leonardo DiCaprio has invested in Neat Food Co. and is helping fuel the global expansion of the successful UK plant-based food company. The company plans to open its first brick-and-mortar spot in the US before the end of this year.

DiCaprio is joining Hamilton as a high-profile investor for the company. The company has its sights set high to bring these delicious plant-based burgers worldwide and plans to have 42 locations in the UK, US, Italy, and the Middle East. The company would also like to launch packaged goods in the next year, including their plant-based chicken patty and hot dogs.

“Disrupting our food system with sustainable alternatives is one of the key ways we can make a real difference in reducing global emissions,” DiCaprio said in a statement. “Neat Burger’s pioneering approach to alternative proteins is a great example of the type of solutions we need moving forward.”

Neat Burger was launched in 2019 by Hamilton and Tommaso Chiabra, who were both early investors in Beyond Meat. There are eight locations in London, and the company plans to have 12 locations in the US. They will open a mix of storefronts and ghost kitchens by the end of this year. They are currently scouting places in SoHo, Bryant Park, and Midtown Manhattan.

When the company first began, it used Beyond Meat for its burgers, but recently at a pop-up in Midtown Manhattan, the company switched to its own recipe. Neat’s patties are protein-packed and made from corn, peas, rice, chickpeas, potato, and quinoa. They use natural colors from beets, turmeric, lemon, berries, and carrots. Their ingredients and straightforward and available right on their website; no hiding ingredient lists here!

They offer five burgers, including the original Neat Burger with vegan cheese, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, white onions, neat sauce, stack sauce, and two Neat Meat patties. They also offer a Chick’n Burger and Filet-No-Fish Burger, and don’t forget about the Neat Dog– their homemade Neat Dog with grilled onions, pickled, crispy onions, and condiments. Their delicious sides include traditional fries, sweet potato fries, tater tots, nuggets, and buffalo nuggets.
