The Impossible Burger was launched in 2016 as a more sustainable alternative to meat. Since then, it’s become a very popular plant-based meat alternative available in restaurants from Burger King to Qdoba and White Castle. They were never available in stores for people to cook at home until recently though. Impossible Foods teased a few months ago that they’d be available in stores in September, and last week they announced their grocery store debut on the West Coast at Gelson’s stores. Today, they officially debut in grocery stores on the East Coast!

The Impossible Burger will be available at all 100 Wegmans locations on the East Coast. The chain has stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. Two Fairyway Market locations in Manhattan will also be selling the Burger, specifically the 74th and 86th street locations. In total, the burger is hitting an additional 102 stores after just debuting last week on the West Coast.

Although only currently available in 129 stores, Impossible Foods plans to expand and be available in grocery stores in all key regions throughout this year and early 2020.
