It seems like everyday another popular restaurant or fast food chain is adding plant-based options to their menu. Recently, Chick-Fil-A added a kale salad and Bareburger added a vegan egg. Establishments like Oceania Cruises and Disneyland have also expanded their menus. After a successful test run in Michigan, Qdoba has decided to launch plant-based meat to its menu at over 730 locations before the end of May!
The plant-based protein source for the new menu is the Impossible “meat.” It’s seasoned in-house with a blend of tomatoes, garlic, smoked chiles, paprika, and diced onions. Customers can order it in two menu items: the Qdoba Impossible Bowl which has cilantro-lime white rice, black beans, cheese (order without it if vegan), pico de gallo, guacamole, and seasoned impossible and the Qdoba Impossible Taco in which the Impossible meat is wrapped in a warm corn tortilla with red onions, cilantro, and salsa verde.
On April 23rd, the menu items will be available at select locations in Brooklyn, Denver, and Los Angeles. Then by May 28th, these options will be available at more than 730 locations nationwide.
