Tommy Pickles: Spicy Feral Cat Turned Sweet Snuggle Bug

small gray-white kitten in hands

Tommy Pickles was a feral cat and had quite a little attitude, but thankfully @fortheloveofkittenrescue stepped in and slowly began to gain his trust. Tommy was rescued behind a dumpster and was very weary of the treats that his new human was giving him, but eventually, he couldn’t resist and began to eat the treat.

On their second day together, Tommy was still a bit apprehensive, but he couldn’t seem to resist the pets. Chucky, Tommy’s brother, also began to trust and even started purring when he got his share of pets. Their sister, Angelica, still wanted nothing to do with humans, so she stayed to herself. Unfortunately, all of the kittens had an upper respiratory infection so twice a day, they got antibiotics and eye medication.

In a final update, Tommy is purring like an engine and has completely let his guard down. He is living for the ear scratchies and pets that he is getting and loving every second of it!

All of the kittens are now on their way to being adopted and will soon find their forever homes! It is because of foster parents like this that these kittens survive, and they are true heroes!

With an estimated 7.6 million animals entering America’s shelters every year, fostering is important because it helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and opens up space for other animals to be saved. It also helps prepare animals for adoption by giving them a chance to live in a home where they can fully express their personality, work to overcome fears, or recover from trauma.

Having foster kittens around is hard work, but it is so rewarding and very fun! It is something that will keep you up at night and steal time out of your day. But, you won’t regret a second of it! As a foster parent, you will be loving, raising, and caring for the kittens so that they can grow up and find their forever homes.
