This sad and scared German Shepherd was crying for days until someone finally called for help. Rescuers came and tried to give her food, but the poor pup was so scared she couldn’t stop crying. They gained a little bit of her trust and were able to get a leash around her to help bring her to the car. The poor pup was so scared, but she gradually gained more trust in her rescuers, and they finally go there into a cage.
They got her back to a safe place and gave her a good washing which she seemed to love. She loved getting pets and love from the humans around her, and she finally stopped crying.
Just two weeks later, Sassy Pants Dunbar’s rescuers came to visit her in her new home. She ran over to them, wagging her tail, and they couldn’t believe how happy she was. She loves her new home and is incredibly grateful to her rescuers for saving her and giving her a second chance at life!
According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. While we cannot change the horrific treatment that many animals have already endured in the past, we can give animals a voice and hold perpetrators accountable for crimes in the present and the future.
