A TikTok video of the rescue went viral on TikTok and has racked up over 4.8 million views. The video posted by @eli_theoneeye had the caption, “The long-awaited Harper rescue story 💕.“

The video shows Harper being rescued from the side of the road in West Virginia. In the next clip, the kitty is home wrapped in a blanket. The video shows how the kitty’s personality began to shine through and how much she loved to play around.

Finally, she got to meet her other cat sibling and loved to play and be around them.

@eli_theoneeye told Newsweek, “We were driving to the Airbnb on a dark road near Harpers Ferry and I saw something small run across. I stopped to get out of the car because I knew it wasn’t a squirrel or chipmunk. I knew it was a kitten instantly when I got out of the car because he was meowing his head off.”

In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice a cat on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
