When this TikToker @knort_81 heard a meow coming from outside, he thought it might just be some neighborhood cats. But then, when it went on for 10 or so minutes, he decided to go check it out. When he went outside, he started recording because he wasn’t sure what he was going to find. Eventually, he got closer to the meows and found a little orange kitten stuck in a barrel of dirty water. The kitten was meowing for help and was so weak she could barely swim.
He quickly dumped out the barrel and got the kitten out. She was weak, and he quickly picked her up and began to pet her to soothe her and tell her everything was going to be ok.

He got the kitten dried up and washed and gave her some food. “An unexpected addition to our already big family,” he wrote in the video, “but we have more love to give.” He then asked his followers who watched the kitten rescue for some name suggestions.

In an update video, Kyle explained that he took her to the vet, and they found out that she is around four to five weeks old. They have been giving her formula and decided to name the adorable kitten Lilo. Lilo now lives with Kyle, his wife, their five sons, and a 2-year-old puppy, and she fits in great!

Although Lilo might like her brother a little more than he likes her, he tolerates her playfulness like any good animal brother.

According to national estimates, approximately 6.3 million companion animals are abandoned and enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. In the US alone over 5.4 million cats are killed on the side of the road. If you happen to notice a cat on the side of the road, whether or not the animal is injured, safely put on the hazard lights and pull your car completely off the road before attempting to rescue them, says the Humane Society.
