Cute Alert! Pregnant Homeless Cat Rescued From the Cold Gives Birth

The winter can be an especially trying time for homeless animals. In the U.S. alone, it is estimated that there are around 70 million cats and dogs who are homeless, and of those animals only a small fraction will ever make it into an animal shelter. While some animals, like feral cats, have learned to survive in the wild, life out in the cold is undoubtedly challenging for a cat or dog.

The mother cat featured in this video was rescued from the cold streets of Philadelphia – one day prior to giving birth to a litter of kittens! Mama and her babies were saved by the Animal Alliance of New Jersey right in the nick of time and will now be able to adjust to the world without the threat of frost bite.

Watching the mother so diligently care for her new little, wriggling bundles of joy is sure to warm your heart and brighten even the toughest day! Just check them out a few moments after birth:
