Cats often climb into tricky places from which they’re unable to get down. Thankfully, there are good people willing to step in and help. One Verizon employee even got into trouble at work once for using work equipment to save a cat stuck on a telephone pole. Recently, a cat in Ireland got into a tricky situation that could have cost him his life, but thanks to dedicated, kind people, he was saved!
A big ginger cat somehow climbed almost to the top of a tree that is 50 feet tall. The poor cat was “calling out in such a distressed state,” and ISPCA volunteers said it was “heart-breaking” to hear him. Despite a lot of coaxing, the cat was terrified and it was extremely difficult to get him down.
The local Tullow Fire Brigade were unable to get down despite the equipment and tall ladder, and everyone was worried that they wouldn’t be able to save him. However, Lucas Tree Services and Codd Mushrooms were asked to assist and they kindly volunteered their time. Thanks to a teleporter, the cat was brought safely to the ground.
Everyone involved is happy the cat is safe now and they know if they never got him down, he would have died slowly and painfully. He already spent a terrifying six days up there. What an amazing story of persistence and compassion.
