Lauren McNeill is a plant-based registered dietitian, and she is sharing 5 healthy foods she always makes sure to pick up at the grocery store.
The first food she always buys is frozen edamame. Not only is edamame a great source of protein, but it makes an amazing and filling snack with a little bit of soy sauce and tastes great in stir-fries, soups, and salads.
The next food item Lauren always picks up from the store is leafy greens. She recommends buying any kind that you like. Kale, spinach, romaine, and arugula, the options are endless, and they can be incorporated into so many different dishes.
Her third favorite food item to pick up is canned beans. Not only are they extremely convenient, but they are such an easy way to get in your plant-based source of protein.
Next is peanut butter. It’s a great source of healthy fat and protein and tastes delicious!
Lastly is bananas. This fruit is a staple to have in your kitchen. They are great to snack on, and when frozen, they can elevate your smoothie recipes.
