This TikTok trend claims to be the cure for bloating and water retention!
TikTok user @bklynne says, “this is the absolute best remedy that I have ever discovered, and trust me, I have tried them all!” The remedy that she is referring to is roasted dandelion tea. She fills a big glass up with ice water, and dips the dandelion tea bag into the water. You can also make hot tea if you prefer. She explains that dandelion is a natural diuretic, which increases urine output, and ultimately helps to flush out your system. She also pointed out that in a recent study, it was found that dandelion could have similar effects on the body as drugs that help with weight regulation.
Regardless of whether this bloating hack works for you, dandelions are extremely healthy and nutritious! They have an abundance of vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as a host of minerals, such as iron, calcium, potassium, and fiber. They have also been shown to improve liver function, and provide inulin, which helps maintain good gut flora.
