Viral TikTok nutrition trends have taken off and are actually posing a threat to those watching, instead of doing all of the amazing things that they claim to do.

One of these viral TikTok trends is dropping chlorophyll into water. Chlorophyll is a special green pigment found in plants. Though some health benefits are real, it also has the ability to come with many side effects, such as digestion issues.

Another TikTok trend has been to put raw garlic cloves up your nose for congestion. Though this might seem effective to begin with, it can have severe side effects. Raw garlic contains harsh oil, which can irritate and even burn the delicate tissue in your nose. This is why this is a very unsafe trend to follow.

These are just two examples of the never-ending circle of viral TikTok trends centered around health, wellness, and nutrition. The trends are rarely started by professionals who know what they are doing. Usually, they are started by adults, and even some children, who do not understand the side effects or science behind what they are doing.

Too often people take these trends seriously and think that they are based on facts or science, which can be quite dangerous. It is all fun and games until something backfires and someone has a terrible reaction to one of these trends.
