Each year, billions of farm animals are slaughtered to line grocery store shelves and restaurant platters around the world. Yet the way they become such nicely packaged “products” or colorful, garnished dishes would shock most people if they saw what went on behind closed doors.
Farm animals are by far the most systemically abused animals in the world. In factory farm settings, chickens, pigs, cows, turkeys, ducks, geese, and others are tightly confined in filthy quarters for the majority of their lives – lives which end not long after they begin.
What’s more, farm animals, unlike our beloved cat and dog companions, are often exempt from legal protections, allowing abuses such as tail docking, force feeding, or extreme confinement to go unchallenged.
While the factory farming industry is a powerful one, battles are being won and more humane, plant-based options are entering the marketplace at record rates.
There are also more farm sanctuaries around than there ever was before. It is at these safe havens that farm animals can finally be free from suffering, where they can always be surrounded by love, and where they are individuals, not commodities.
Below, check out 22 beautiful photos of farm animals living out their lives in peace at farm sanctuaries across the U.S. We guarantee each and every one of them will leave you smiling and your heart happy.

Spay, neuter & adopt. Wonderful <3
Please tell me what would happen to ALL of the animals in farming facilities if everyone on the planet went vegan right now! You can take them all and afford to feed them for the rest of their peaceful lives, right? RIGHT?
May we suggest you read this article? We don’t have all the answers, but the system as it is rigt now hurts animals, people and the environment. https://www.onegreenplanet.org/uncategorized/what-would-happen-to-all-the-animals-if-everyone-went-vegan/
