World Vegan Day is but weeks away (mark your calendars for November 1), but one shop in Liverpool is starting the festivities early.
Santa Maluco is a popular Rodizio (all-you-can-eat) style pizza restaurant nestled in the heart of Liverpool, and it just launched a brand new all-you-can-eat pizza night on Mondays. The best part? It’s all you can eat vegan pizza.
“With a new focus on sustainable farming and mindful eating, meat-free Mondays and flexitarianism are becoming more and more popular, and the number of those choosing to forgo meat and dairy for certain days in the week in order to reap both health and environmental benefits is rising,” a spokesperson for Santa Maluco told Liverpool Echo.
The new initiative invites patrons to pay a fixed price, and then receive access to a stunning spread of plant-based pie.

For £10.95 (or $14.43 U.S.D.) before 4 p.m. or £15.95 ($21.01 U.S.D.) after 4 p.m., participants in the vegan Rodizio Monday special get their choice of the following pizzas:
We’re so jealous of Liverpool residents!
If you’re stuck in an area that doesn’t offer all-you-can-eat vegan pizza Mondays, don’t worry — you can still make amazing plant-based pizza from home. This recipe by Zsu Dever from the Food Monster App will help get you started — just like Santa Maluca, it features Char Siu.

The toppings are what make this Char Siu Pizza so unique. Char Siu is Cantonese barbecue that is a little sweet and a little tangy. In this recipe, the pizza sauce is made from a blend of hoisin sauce, tomato paste, ginger, and Chinese 5-spice. Then, cannellini beans, Shiitake mushrooms, and bell peppers are quickly marinated and the pizza is topped with steamed chard and shredded vegan cheese.
