Maybe, you’ve never been someone who enjoyed cooking? Possibly, you’re on a budget this year? How about the fact that you’ve got end-of-year work deadlines, Christmas shopping, and travel plans and… well… you’re just tired.
Put away all those pots, stow the pie pan, and put your feet up this year because you’re ordering in Thanksgiving dinner.
And, you’re not alone!
In fact, ordering Thanksgiving meals that are prepared by restaurants or grocery stores to be delivered piping hot directly to your doorstep is a steadily growing trend. On that note, for those that are on the cusp of giving in whole-heartedly to ordering a prepared meal, boxed food delivery services are now offering a slew of Thanksgiving meal deals as well. Simply open the box, mix the ingredients, and you’re ready to go!
Find yourself in one of these categories?
Here are a few vegan-friendly food delivery services to check out this year!
1. Whole Foods (Pick Up)
Thanksgiving is traditionally a super busy time for this grocery chain, as they offer pre-prepared full Thanksgiving meals that you can pick up day of. Yet, up until now, there really weren’t many options for vegans.
That’s all about to change as Whole Foods is launching a Vegan Stuffed Turkey at 62 of their locations!
This 100% fully vegan feast will feature a variety of options including starters such as winter squash crostini, warm mustardy Brussels sprout salad, an entree of Thanksgiving Risotto complete with “cranberries, pumpkin, greens and plenty of fresh seasonal herbs,” and, of course, a not-so-traditional pie made with coconut roasted sweet potatoes and pecans.
Make sure to order your Thanksgiving meal ahead of time!
2. Veestro (Shipped)
If you haven’t heard of Veestro, here’s the rundown. They are a 100% plant-based meal delivery service, offering fully cooked meals, that promise super-speedy 5-minute re-heating before full enjoyment. As these are a la carte options, for this with a large group of Thanksgiving day folks, you can also opt for the “Holiday Family Meal Pack ($169.00), which includes four portions of both of the aforementioned a la carte options, as well as sides, and their housemade pecan pie.”
Along with having a darling name — I mean, does it get better than The Purple Carrot? — this food delivery service also has a super honest plant-based mission, all substantiated by science. In fact, their website explains it all:
“Scientific evidence links excess meat consumption, particularly of red and processed meat, with heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, obesity, certain cancers, and earlier death … Plant-based eating is the only diet scientifically proven to improve or reverse chronic disease.”
Alright, so Purple Carrot seeks to get more plants into all of our lives? How do they plan on making this happen on one of the most meat-heavy holidays of the year? Easy … offer a delicious, vegan-friendly Thanksgiving meal delivered right to your doorstep!

Even though the Herbivorous Butcher is located in Minneapolis, their plant-based alternative foods are making their way across the country with an easy online ordering option.

The Herbivorous Butcher offers “small-batch plant-based meals that are always fresh, flavorful, and protein-rich so you never feel like you’re sacrificing anything for healthy and ethical eating.” They believe that a “modest reduction in the consumption of animal products would not only spare billions of animals from inhumane treatment every year, but would have a huge environmental impact at a time when the world urgently needs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to avert catastrophic climate change.”
