Nestle is taking the leap into plant-based products by testing out vegan eggs and shrimp.

In its efforts to beat its rivals to more vegan substitutes, Nestle has started to test out its formula for vegan shrimp and eggs – two vegan substitutes that the market is greatly lacking. 


One unique detail about this egg substitute is that it is in liquid form, making it easy to use in dishes as you would a normal egg. The formula for the plant-based shrimp includes seaweed, giving it a realistic flavor profile.

Chief Executive Officer Mark Schneider said, “We are onto something that’s a major trend over time.”

This is yet another incredibly popular company that is branching out into plant-based products, as it is very clear that the demand for plant-based products isn’t going anywhere.

Nestle already has an impressive line of vegan products, from dairy and meat substitutes to vegan candies. Plus, the brand has already stated its intentions of adding more plant-based options, including new meat and dairy substitutes.
