TikTok user @mirandaksmith shares a useful health tip that you may not know about that could be affecting your mental health. If you’ve noticed that your hair has been shedding a lot, you’ve been sweating more than usual, you’re fatigued, are experiencing achy or sore muscles, or feel sad and depressed, you could just be low in vitamin D! Vitamin D is sometimes called the “sunshine vitamin” because it’s produced in your skin in response to sunlight.
Try and stand by a window or go outside and gets some rays for at least 10 minutes each day, and your symptoms should go away in no time. Aside from exposing yourself to more sunshine, you can also add more vitamin-D-rich foods to your diet. Some of these foods include fortified labeled products such as soy milk, cereal, orange juice, as well as some mushrooms.
Taking a vitamin D supplement is also a reliable and consistent source. “Vitamin D is essential for several reasons, including maintaining healthy bones and teeth. It may also protect against a range of diseases and conditions, such as type 1 diabetes.”
