The TikTok posted by @maliamakaila has racked up over 10.6 million views and shows the French bulldog’s day through the security camera while she is away at work. The message on the video read,

“Leaving my 7 month old puppy at home alone and watching what he does for 8 hours while I work.”

The video begins with the pup wearing a blue knitted sweater and hanging around. Before she leaves, his human puts on a Netflix movie for him and says goodbye. The pup’s day begins with some confusion as to where she went, followed by exploring around the house and, finally, a nap on a big pillow. When he wakes up, he takes a potty break on his human’s rug and then mysteriously, the dog does not have his sweater on. When she gets home, she finds the blue sweater on top of the TV.

Users were extremely confused at how the dog could’ve gotten his sweater up onto the TV, while others were concerned about her leaving the puppy alone while she worked.

“8 hours is a LONG time to be left alone as a puppy. Even if you have neighbors for as needed assistance,” one user commented.

“I’m so confused? Does no one work? 8 hours is normal. I have a lab, he loves his ‘me’ time,” another commented.

Another said, “i don’t think people realize dogs sleep 8-14 hours a day… while your at work, pup is most likely sleeping with the occasional get up to stretch.”

While the comments section was dominated by people debating how long it is ok to leave your dog alone at home for, some needed to know how the sweater got on the TV

“Why is no one wondering how the sweater got up there?!?,” one wrote.

“WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE SWEATER ON THE TV? Forget the 8 hours the dog is fine but the SWEATER?” another said.

In a follow-up video, @maliamakaila explained that she usually has friends that can come over and check up on him, but most days, she actually can work from home. She also explained that she has the camera set up and can come home if there is ever an emergency.
