A TikTok shared by @ourlifewithpaws went viral with over 1.2 million likes and shows her two pups curled up together while the fireworks are going off.

The message on the video reads, “Fireworks is all fun and games until you’ve got reactive dogs.”

@ourlifewithpaws captioned the video, “Next year we’re going to a cabin in the woods.”

Users flooded the comments from other users who were sympathetic toward the rescue dogs and their humans.

“That’s the pain that only dog owners know,” one user said.

“LET’S SAY IT LOUDER!!!! I’m in the same situation and for me it’s not a happy day when I can have a party 😓,” another commented.

This year, Nordic pet care specialist Musti Group wanted to raise awareness about how fireworks can scare dogs on New Year’s Eve by installing a 20-foot virtual dog at the official New Year’s event in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. Musti, the dog, was created and animated with 3D technology, and it hears and reacts to the sounds of fireworks like real dogs all around the world.

The giant Musti screen was at the New Year’s party in Helsinki and was connected to a decibel meter, which acts as the ears of the dog. Musti heard and reacted to the sounds of fireworks like any real pet would to raise awareness.
