Indian Army Teams Up With Wildlife SOS to Save Collapsed Elephant

Moti being helped by a man

Moti, a 35-year-old elephant was found in critical condition and was so malnourished and deprived of veterinary attention that he was on the verge of death. Thankfully, the Mathura-based Wildlife SOS team has been working with the Indian Army to help Moti.

Moti was unable to stand, and his feet, especially the footpads, were worn off and he was on the verge of death. The Mathura-based Wildlife SOS team went to his side and their veterinary doctors are fighting to save Moti’s life as his front leg is fractured and his back legs are weak. He is not able to get up due to hypostatic pressure with the kidney and his heart functions are starting to deteriorate.

Unfortunately, Moti’s condition is getting worse and Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, reached out to the Indian Army to get assistance with the injured elephant. They are now working as a team to try to give Moti a chance at life and they hope that he will somehow be able to pull through.

Kartick Satyanarayan, co-founder and CEO of Wildlife SOS, said

“We are most grateful to Shiv Kunal Verma, General VK Singh and the Chief of Army and Engineers who have so kindly deployed the Bengal Sappers to come to assist us with this last ditch effort to help Moti elephant. This is such a patriotic effort to help India’s heritage animal and an endangered species. We are also grateful to the Forest Department and the custodian of Moti elephant for their cooperation and Support.”

We are so happy that Moti has this giant team working to help him push through and recover.
