With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, many people are looking for something special to gift a loved one or even themselves. Popular Valentine’s Day items include flowers, chocolates, and silk pajamas.

Unfornutaley, silk is created through a cruel, unethical process involving boiling silkworms alive. Despite its luxurious reputation, there’s not much to glamorize about how silk is created, and it’s far from romantic.

In an effort to help people celebrate a cruelty-free Valentine’s Day, luxury vegan silk brand niLuu has partnered with PETA to release a limited-edition Kimono Robe to raise awareness of the cruelty involved in producing silk from worms.

The $820 robes are available for him and her, and make a great gift to say, “I love you.”

According to FAB UK Magazine, the founder of niLuu said, “I am very excited at this collaboration with PETA and being able to bring awareness to the fact that you can have the things that you love without harming animals or the environment. Launching the Lennon Kimono and involving many PETA supporters in time for Valentine’s Day is wonderful and allows us to celebrate love for one another and each living creature.”

The Kimonos are made with PETA-approved “silk” and a portion of the proceeds from the sales will be donated to PETA.

To help kick off the launch of the robes, the company is gifting 14 of Hollywood’s couples a pair of robes so they can celebrate Valentine’s Day in compassionate style. Some of the couples to receive the robes include Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, Zendaya and Tom Holland, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Ariana Grande and Dalton Gozen, and Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer among others.

Vegan silk is becoming more fashionable, with celebrities like Rihanna promoting the cruelty-free alternative. Hopefully, the launch of this robe and seeing it on big-name celebrities will help the cause even more!
