Endurance athlete Sarah Ferguson has planned a daring swim in order to spread awareness about ocean plastic pollution.

The 39-year-old endurance swimmer will swim over 1,200 km from Durban to Cape Town – a journey that not many swimmers could make.

Sarah Ferguson is the founder of Breathe Conservation, an international nonprofit organization that is striving to create a plastic-free ocean. It also directly targets disposable plastics that often make their way into the world’s oceans.

The remarkable swimmer is best known for her environmental activism, centered around plastic Pollution in the ocean. Since 2012, the swimmer has been competing around the world in order to educate people on the dire condition that the world’s oceans are in and what we can do to save them.

This new swim is just one of many that Ferguson has done in the hopes of drawing the world’s attention to ocean pollution. She did a similar swim in 2019 around Chile’s Easter Island. This upcoming swim, which will be completed by 2023, is said to be even more daunting.
