It’s amazing when people can come together to help and save an animal. Recently we shared the amazing rescue of a service dog who was stuck under a bike path. Firefighters, police officers, and animal control all came together to patiently and heroically save her. A similar rescue took place on Thursday, April 2nd. A beagle was trapped under a pickup truck for 30 minutes and traveled about 40 miles while under there.
Zeke is a 2-year-old beagle who crawled under his owner’s pickup truck and somehow got really stuck in there. After a few minutes of trying to get Zeke out, a veterinarian advised that they try to sedate him. That did the trick and they were able to free him.
We'd like to thank Rochester firefighters, Rochester Animal Services, and our Humane Law Enforcement Investigators for their combined efforts in rescuing Zeke, a beagle who was trapped under a truck at the Rochester Public Market this morning! #Roc #HelpingPets https://t.co/7yRVAzV32d

The owner hadn’t realized his dog was trapped under his car until he arrived at his destination and heard his dog bark when he exited the car. That’s when he got help. Thankfully, Zeke didn’t just make it out, but he only had minor injuries. What a lucky pup! He will make a full recovery and hopefully never again crawl under the truck.
