Edie Falco Teams Up With PETA Against Animal Experiments

Actress Edie Falco has joined PETA in the push for Congress to strengthen the laws surrounding animal experimentation.

Edie Falco said, “I’m a longtime animal lover, advocate. I will take any opportunity to speak out for animals who are abused or tortured in laboratories. The experiments are unbelievably cruel, I don’t think anyone can dispute that, but it adds insult to injury when you learn that they don’t amount to anything even remotely resembling scientific progress.”

PETA claims that 95% of drugs shown effective on animals fail to be effective for humans. Thus, the Animal rights group is pushing for federal health agencies to devise more humane and effective methods to replace animal experimentation. 

The push back against animal testing has recently grown as the details of the experiments funded by NIAID have come to light. The cruel experiments, including those performed on beagle puppies, have garnered attention from politicians as well as the general public, causing a wave of outrage.

Testing on animals is cruel and inhumane. The poor animals endure a lifetime of suffering from being bred, to living in terrible conditions, to being killed after suffering many cruel and painful experiments. With so many technological advancements in the scientific field, there are much better ways to perform experiments without using animals.
