This Goldendoodle was saved from a cruel backyard breeder who neglected and abused the litter when it did not sell. Thankfully, @caseyriveter and @manda_lane agreed to foster the poor 5-month-old pup. The dog had not had human contact and was terrified to be around people. Manda took her time with the scared pup, and he eventually let her get closer and closer.
“It’s just sad. There’s just so many dogs like this, and it just doesn’t have to happen if people would stop buying from breeders or if they would do their research,” Manda said on TikTok as she was wiping away tears.

The Goldendoodle’s new brother, Ruger, helped her feel safe in the home. Slowly but surely, she began to come out of her shell. However, she still has a long way to go until she is ready for adoption. Until then, she will get all the TLC she needs to feel safe again. They decided to name her Raven.

One of her sibling dogs, Rouge, had a lambchop toy that made her feel safe when she was first rescued. Now, the sweet dog lets Raven play with it to make her feel safe and happy in her new home. In the adorable TikTok video, Raven can be seen running with the lambchop and playing around with her doggy friends.

With an estimated 7.6 million animals entering America’s shelters every year, fostering is important because it helps reduce overcrowding in shelters and opens up space for other animals to be saved. It also helps prepare animals for adoption by giving them a chance to live in a home where they can fully express their personality, work to overcome fears, or recover from trauma.
Having foster dogs around is hard work, but it is so rewarding and very fun! It is something that will keep you up at night and steal time out of your day. But, you won’t regret a second of it! As a foster parent, you will be loving, raising, and caring for the animals so that they can grow up and find their forever homes.
