How One Family’s Creative Solution Eases Their Rescue Dog’s Anxiety

Myko is a rescue dog who has been plagued by fear and anxiety due to loud noises since he was a puppy. Thunderstorms, fireworks, and construction work would send him into a state of distress, characterized by trembling, panting, and a desperate need to hide. His caregivers, based in Philadelphia, embarked on a journey to find a solution that would alleviate Myko’s anxiety without resorting to medication. In their ingenuity, they devised a panic room, lovingly known as the “Boomie Roomie,” which has transformed Myko’s life. With its growing popularity on social media, this innovative and cozy den has captured the hearts of many viewers, offering hope and inspiration for pet caregivers facing similar challenges.

From a young age, Myko demonstrated an overwhelming fear of loud noises, leaving his humans desperate to find ways to ease his distress. Aware of the potential side effects of medication, they sought alternative solutions to create a sense of security for their beloved animal companion. Last year, they garnered attention when they introduced Myko’s “emotional Support blanket” as a creative measure to provide comfort during unsettling times.
